QuestVault is an independent, self-funded project built by a tiny group of writers, designers, and curious-generalist researchers who got tired of two things: shallow ten-second quizzes that hand you a label and nothing else, and "personality test" sites that quietly try to diagnose you, sell to you, or read your future.

We're a three-person team working across writing, design, and research. None of us is a licensed clinician, and we don't pretend to be — which is exactly why our tests are carefully scoped to stay on the entertainment-and-reflection side of the line.

Research & fact-checking

Reads the source material behind every common-sense and psychology topic so the frameworks we borrow (Big Five, attachment theory, etc.) are at least used honestly.

Why we built this

The internet is full of "what kind of bread are you" quizzes, and it is also full of "take this 90-question assessment to find your true self" sites that end in a paywall. We wanted something in the middle: tests that are genuinely fun to take, but whose results are written with the care of a long essay rather than the brevity of a fortune cookie.

We also wanted a site we'd be comfortable pointing a friend to. That means no popups over the answer options, no requests for your name or ID number, no creepy retargeting after you read a result about your attachment style. You take a test, you read something thoughtful, and then you close the tab. That's the whole product.

How we work

Editorial first. A result is not shipped until its profile text reads like something we'd be willing to say out loud to the person getting it.
Frameworks used honestly. When we borrow a framework (attachment styles, Big Five, chronotypes), we describe it the way the source literature does — not the way a viral listicle does.
Zodiac is clearly entertainment. Every astrology test is labeled "for entertainment," and we never link a zodiac result to a product, a remedy, or a prediction about your future.

A note on trust. We don't have a parent company, an investor deck, or a growth target. QuestVault exists because we wanted it to exist. If it ever stops being the kind of site we'd send a friend to, we'll fix it or shut it down — we won't slowly turn it into the thing it was meant not to be.
